Summer and the hot weather quickly approaching means swimming season is almost here. Nobody wants to be caught off guard by the first pool party of the season. Here are some exercises I use to feel more comfortable in my own skin.

First, I like to focus on my legs. During this exercise, I like to sit in a quiet place and rest my hands on my thighs. I close my eyes and think of all the things my legs help me do. They help me jump up and down when I'm really excited. They protect my bones when I fall. The look great in whatever I want to wear. It's so easy to look in the mirror and think your legs are too big or they aren't long enough. Comparing yourself to those around you only contributes to feelings of inadequacy. I believe all legs are perfect for the body they support. If you do this exercise once a day, week, or whenever you need and I can guarantee you'll have legs you love.
The next exercise is for a core you can flaunt in any bikini. Eat whenever you're hungry and stop whenever you're full. Whether it's the first thing in the morning or late at night, if your stomach is rumbling, eat something. I don't think having a six pack is worth skipping a camp fire and s'mores with friends. If you eat when you're hungry, your body will have more strength to do what you love, A.K.A. strutting your stuff poolside.
Lastly, for cardio I like to make a playlist with all my favorite songs and dance around in front of the mirror. I think it's important to see yourself enjoying life. It's hard to not worry what other people think when they see you. I can't count the number of times I've started worrying in the middle of having a good time because I'm concerned about other people's opinions. But when you're having a good time swimming with your friends, other people shouldn't have the power to stop that. By seeing myself happy, I have an easier time not caring if other people are staring at me. Any body that is having fun and laughing is beautiful.
These exercises will have you loving the way you look in no time. So, get in your favorite swim suit and get ready to have a blast at any summer party.
